Current Professional Goals
To establish myself as a clinician-scientist, facilitating inter-disciplinary research collaborations with my clinical work as a generator of research questions.
In the last 3 years I have focused on:
– Founding an Orthopaedic 3D printing laboratory and researching the effect on Orthopaedic practice. (Focus of PhD research)
– Starting a career as an academic, taking on teaching, research supervision and administrative duties in Div of Clinical Anatomy.
– Expanding my clinical proficiencies in deformity correction surgery and the treatment of chronic osteomyelitis by working at the Limb Reconstruction unit at Tygerberg Hospital.
– Developing young medical professionals and academics through engaging teaching and research supervision, both at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
